‘AAMAD’ the Dance Center is a registered NGO,
founded 21 years ago in 1996. AAMAD Dance
centre is run by Ms. Rani Khanam, who
is one of the most astute and sensitive interpreters of Lucknow Gharana of
Kathak today. She performs both unique repertoire
of sacred dances and her classical Kathak dance.
For her courageous and pioneering work, Ranil Khanam has been honored with many
prestigious awards some of them are- 5th National Women Excellence Award –
2012; Asian Cultural Council Fellowship on "World Dance and Islamic
Culture"; The Govt. of India’s: Fellowship and the Indian basis's award as
brilliant Kathak dancer.
AAMAD is considered
one of the premier performing arts organizations in India, whose main mission
is to enhance diversity and integration in the arts with works uniting people
of all abilities. Aamad Dance Centre is recognized through the department of
subculture, authorities of India, enrolled underneath ICCR- (Ministry of
outside Affairs) & is presently running in cooperation with Kathak Kendra -
National Institute of Kathak dance.
Over the years, AAMAD’s inspirational mission has touched
over 2 million people via performances, training, festivals, seminars and
workshops thus developing employment in the field of Art and culture.
Emphasize on the world of Indian performing arts and the foremost
Kathak style dance production, The AAMAD’s Dance Centre is the most creative and
unique initiative. Aamad Internationally acclaimed ‘SUFI’ dance performances,
‘DANCING WHEELS’ performed by Differently abled artists on Wheelchairs &
Crutches and ‘TRADITIONAL KATHAK & CREATIVE’. Aamad is issued based dance production
for the rights of Muslim women & women in general.
Being the unique style of dancing, the performances by Aamad are
gaining star-marked popularity all over the world. AAMAD’s artists have been featured
in reputed countrywide and global dance festivals; USA, UK, South Korea,
Malaysia and Algeria. AAMAD has been successfully organizing festivals for the
last one decade aimed at reviving the fading aspects & aesthetics of Indian
dance for future generation and also providing a platform to the talented young
artists.
